Ginger, Lemon and Thyme Tea

This is my personal cold/flu remedy. If you are feeling under the weather then use the ingredients below! I have also listed the properties of each ingredient for your reference.

Lemon:

As an antioxidant, vitamin C also protects cells from oxidative damage. Plus, getting enough vitamin C helps the immune system keep colds and flu at bay. Drinkinglemon water daily ensures your body gets a sizable amount of vitamin C daily.

Thyme: 

The flowers, leaves, and oil of thyme have been used to treat bedwetting, diarrhea, stomach ache, arthritis, colic, sore throat, cough, including whooping cough, bronchitis, flatulence, and as a diuretic, to increase urination.

Ginger

Ginger is anti-inflammatory, and it is often used to treat symptoms of a compromised immune system including bacterial infections and nausea. See more here.

Ingredients

  • 1 lemon
  • 1 4-inch piece of ginger
  • 4 sticks of thyme

Directions

  1. Scrape the skin of the ginger and then chop into fine pieces
  2. Cut the lemon in half and then squeeze into the pot
  3. Pull the leaves off of the thyme and then place in the pot
  4. Let everything boil for 10 minutes
