“Ale” ments

Ingredients

  • 8 apples
  • 4 cinnamon sticks
  • 1 star anise
  • 2 quarts of Ale
  • 12 oz of rum

 

Directions (Serves 10-12)

  1. Peel 8 apples and remove the core
  2. Chop the apples into quarter-sized pieces
  3. Place the chopped apples, cinnamon sticks, 1 star anise  into a pot
  4. Pour 2 quarts of ale and 2 cups of honey
  5. Simmer at a low heat for 20 minutes
  6. To serve, pour 1 ounce of dark rum into a mug and then pour the ale mixture on top
