Ginger Cookies

I think it is obvious by this point that I have an affinity for Ginger.

2 teaspoons of ground ginger
3/4 teaspoon of ground cinnamon
1/2 teaspoon ground cloves
1/4 teaspoon salt
1 cup of brown sugar
2 tablespoons of brown sugar
3/4 cup of butter
1/4 cup of molasses
1 egg
1 tablespoon of water
2 1/4 cups of all-purpose flour
1 teaspoon of baking soda

1. Preheat your over to 350 degrees and prepare your cookie sheet
2. Mix together the flour, ginger baking soda,salt, cloves, and cinnamon in a bowl and then set aside
3. In a separate bowl, mix 1 cup of sugar and butter together until there is a fluffy consistency
4. Beat in the egg and then stir in the molasses and water
5. Next add the ingredients from the first bowl (step 1) into the egg, molasses and water mixture and stir
6. Sprinkle the remaining 2 tablespoons of sugar in the mixture and stir
7. Shape the dough into a small circle and then place it on the cookie sheet. Leave 1-1.5 inches of space in between the cookies
8. Bake for 10-15 minutes and then let the cookies cool for 5 minutes
