Apple Chips (Apfel Chips)

Here’s a quick and easy snack! I  discovered this delicious and healthy treat (thanks to my aunt) at a festival in Germany. Apple trees are pretty common in Bavaria, Germany, so I figured the Germans would have innovative ways to eat it. In any event, it’s a great alternative to the potato chip, and you should try it!

Ingredients

  • Apples of your choice
  • Ground cinnamon or cayenne pepper (Optional)

Instructions

1. Cut the apple into thin slices or rings (1/4 an inch)
2. Pat the apple slices dry
3. Preheat your oven to 300f degrees
4. Line your baking tray with olive oil and place the slices on the tray
5. Bake for 30 minutes
6. Flip the apple slices and bake for another 30 minutes or until brown
7. (Optional) Sprinkle either cinnamon or cayenne pepper on top of your apple chips
