The Fat Mermaid – 6/10 stars

A beach view and good company are always good supplements for less than stellar food. Don’t get me wrong here, I had a great time, and I had great service. The atmosphere, local attractions and overall aesthetic of the restaurant were also inviting, however, when it came to the food…either my taste buds weren’t working or most of the food was not properly seasoned. It looked tasty at least.

I was in a completely different country, though, so maybe the standard is different. My family is also from a culture that that uses a lot of spices and other ingredients in our dishes, so I could be a bit biased.

The Menu

Bread and Dips (olive oil, mayonnaise, Red bell pepper dips)- The Red Bell pepper dip was definitely the table favorite.
Sausages– Absolutely Amazing. I have never tasted anything like it
Burger patty-like meat
Prawns– Visually appealing/No taste
Salmon and broccoli – Did not try
Chicken quarters- Visually appealing/No taste
Asparagus
Salad-Delicious
Potatoes-Good
White Beer-Good
Lemonade– Delicious
