It’s Gin O’clock

I’m not a big drinker at all, but law school has persistently tried to make me one. I say this because 97% of our law school related events include alcohol (not an actual statistic btw). If I am up for a drink, a gin and tonic is my go-to. My mother considers this to be an “old man” drink (I’ve also heard it described as a “manly cocktail”). For the record, it was a male who first introduced this drink to me. Either way, it’s light and tasty with the right ingredients (see below).

Ingredients

  • 1 glass with two ice cubes
  • 1/3 cup of gin
  • 1/2 cup of tonic water
  • 1/3 cup of sprite
  • 1/2 a lime
  • 1 basil leaf (optional)

Directions

  1. Pour your choice of Gin into the glass cup (with ice cubes already inside)
  2. Pour tonic water and Sprite inside the glass
  3. Squeeze half of the lime into the glass
  4. Cut a slice of lime to wedge onto the side of the glass for aesthetic purposes
  5. Stir
  6. (Optional) Add the basil leaf into the glass
